Bash Brother Introduction - The World Famous Sherm

Introducing you to the World famous "Sherm"

Hit Me!
Hit Me Twice!!

Sherm would do the Bugaloo when he got a Hit and did the
Funky Chicken when he went up to Bat.
See for yourself!
SHHHHHHHHEEEEEEERRRRMMMMM!

Sherm was an aspiring Comedianne....he has a habit of choking
his chicken while he tells
his jokes or types on his keyboard.

The camp photographer took ALOT of pictures of ole' Sherm! They must have had a thing going.....Take a look for your self!

For every three pictures in Ken's Smug Mug, you will see Sherm.

Sherm is in the Hardware business....he uses a lot of hardware terms when he talks...such as-
  • "You hit the nail on the head"
  • "My roommate was sawing logs"
  • "The shower has Kohler fixtures"
  • and his favorite...."Don't drop the soap"

Here's Sherm "buddying" up to Hall of Famer - Fergie Jenkins.

I don't know where Sherm's hand is...I do know that Sherm followed all the Cubs players all over the locker room and field.

Baseball Card of Joe Pepitone when he was on the
Cubs and maybe....had hair. Joe changed his wigs as
much as Sherm changes his skivvies.
That's right...Sherm turns his inside out and gets two for the price of one!

What do we have here?
Lo' and behold it's Sherm with Pepi!
Who would have figured?
Nice hair Pepi!

Another famous alumni was Mr Cub, Ernie Banks.
A true Class act!
Ernie when he was jumping high!

Campers...Who would have guessed!?!
Sherm with Ernie Banks!
Sherm likes to touch and hug.
Love is in the air.
Ernie has a nice smile.....and a great dentist.

Male bonding at it's finest.

Sherm showing Ernie his Cubs tattoo.

Ernie does not look too thrilled.

The male bonding took a turn.....

Shern will NOT be attending the 2008 Camp. Rumor has it
that Sherm pretends to play at camp with his Bullpen Buddy in his backyard.

Sherm...

Takes pictures with the Buddy.
Hugs the Buddy.
Tries to get the buddy to sign autographs for him.
Puts wigs on the Buddy and calls him Pepi.
Showers with the Buddy.
And shows the Buddy his Cubs tattoo.

The Real Rea$on Sherm will not be attending the 2008 camp!

Bash Brothers SPECIAL REPORT!

AAAAAAAGGGGHHHHH!!!
Has Anyone seen my balls....?!?

Can you guess which one these two guys is on 'Roids?

Major League Baseball
releases the 'Roid Report

I am THRILLED to report that
NOT ONE of the
Bash Brothers was mentioned in the MLB report.
As the proxied GM of the Cubs Bash Brothers, I would be
lying if if I didn't get a little choked up when I saw the report findings.

You Guys make me proud to be a Bash Brother!

In regards to other "Roid" reports....I can't be as certain.....

Looking at the diagram, I could be wrong all together.
Then again, maybe all the Bash Brothers
are ON or have 'Roids.

Steroids!
The Breakfast of Chumps....I mean Champions!

Six Weeks until Randy Hundley's 2008 Fantasy Camp!

The Suspense is Killing me!
I can't wait!

It's almost here! Time to start stretching, running and not falling, hitting, and throwing. We have six weeks to go...with the holidays somewhere in the middle of all this. I started running
yesterday and driving into my subliminal conscience that I need to slide before the base, not after it.
The proper way to slide!

I HIGHLY recommend that you start your work out and stretching regime sooner
than later.Yesterday's weather in Texas was 81 degrees...today it is 38.

Welcome to Texas in the Winter!
Remember to plan for your holiday season!

Something to Ponder or share with your family at the "holiday" table.

Name the only sport in which the ball is always in possession of the team on defense and the offensive team can score without touching the ball?

.. Baseball.

Due to Popular Demand.....the Cubs Bash Hat has been changed.
The new hat is probably more appropriate.

A new Bash Brother will be introduced this weekend.
Could it be a Doctor?or a absent Bash Brother? or a "cable" star?
We will "see".....get it!!??

Only the Smitty knows! HaHaHaHa!

Plus a new feature, Joke of the Week!

Stay tuned!

Intro to Bash Brother #2- Dave "Badmojo"

There is no way these guys were on Steroids??!!?!

Dave is a Bash Brother by association, in most circles a
"Wannabe" or "Wannabe Basher".

Dave at Work!

He has felt left out of the Brotherhood due to his lack of participation
in the 2007 Cubs Camp.

Dave is also known as "Badmojo", and is in the mortgage business.
He will receive his business "plug-ola" at a later date. Badmojo plays
on a Beverly Hills softball team with the DeCarlo brothers
(i.e. Alumni Bash Brothers). He is impressed with himself in
that he can "rake"
off an underhanded pitcher.

COOL FACTOR!
Badmojo's
cool factor is that his wife is expecting twins after many prayers
and "work", if you get my drift!

The Bash Brotherhood hangs up our "Bash hat" temporarily to send
a BIG Congrats to Mojo and his wife....and the dogs too.
Many prayers for a healthy family.

Time to put the "Bash Hat" back on.....NEW BASH HAT!
Due to Popular demand!

Hey Dave! Part Velcro - Part toxic Waste......
Get your sleep now!!!

Two for the price of One!

FINALLY!
Badmojo wanted to participate in the Bash Brothers Blog. Here
is his "idea" of creativity. That is why Dave is in mortgages!

Dave and the Mrs. wish you a happy holiday!

Dave needs another Bash Hat for this!BASH HAT!

2008 Chicago Cubs Fantasy Camp Update!

VS.

Looks like the 2008 Cubs camp will be playing the San Francisco Giants camp.
What does this mean? The Bash Brothers better work on their pitching arms.
The Giants camp is a "live" pitching camp vs
a "Dr Raker" pitching machine special.

As reported in San Francisco's Wave magazine -

"A rare treat this year will be a road game in nearby Mesa, Arizona against teams from the Chicago Cubs Fantasy Camp. The week concludes with the traditional intra-camp single elimination tournament."

Introducing the first Bash Brother - Ralph

Let me introduce to you...2007 Cubs Camp Alumni...Ralph or "Ralphie".
All "pro" ball players get a nickname. Number #59

Ralph took one for the team...he "slid" head first...for apparently no reason at all...to score a run.
He invented what is now called the "Murnyak Strain". Ralph likes to shave his chest and hold onto ice bags. He's my hero because he's got Cubs season tickets behind the Visitor's dugout at Wrigley Field. Plus....he's a pretty nice guy. My only suggestion is if you are to ever meet Ralphie and he offers to show you the "Murnyak Strain", that you decline.

Poster Child Time

Cool Factor! I'm a Poster Child for the Texas Rangers Fantasy Camp!

Left to Right- George Wright, Jim Kerr, Jim Sundberg,
ME!, Steve Carlton,
Curtis Wilkerson, Steve Buechele, and Claude Osteen.

T
he Texas Rangers Fantasy camp was scheduled for September 2007 at Texas Rangers Stadium and January 2008 in Surprise, AZ at their Spring Training facility. The 2008 camp had the TX Rangers squad playing the Kansas City Royals camp hosted by George Brett. Both camps were canceled. Maybe the Rangers need to quit losing their key players and start winning. That would help.

The cool factor is that we play at the former Ameriquest Field...now Texas Rangers Stadium for the camp, plus we play one game before a pro game. I had Eric Gagne, Ron Washington, and Sammy Sosa checking me out as I played first base.

Lets see....Soriano...A-Rod...Kenny Rodgers....Pudge Rodriguez, Gary Matthews, Jr., Mark Texiera, Kevin Mench, and the list grows and grows....!

Catch up Time - December 2007

OK.....So I'm a little behind on my blog. Been the toughest year I ever experienced.
Blessed in many ways...but the lessons have been tough.

I started the blog to report on the Fantasy Baseball Camps that I have attended.

So Far...
  • Texas Rangers - Sept 2006
  • Chicago Cubs - January 2007
  • Texas Rangers Stadium - May 2007 -
    Batted .1000 - 2 Singles - 1 Run - 2 RBI's
in front of a live crowd before a Rangers Game
  • Chicago Cubs - January 2008 - UPCOMING!
The 2007 Cubs Camp was extremely cool! Met some great people who we now term the
Cubs Bash Brothers! We have added to the Bash Brothers for the 2008 camp and part of our alumni have "opted" out. Go figure.

I'll introduce you in the next few weeks to our Bash Brothers and share some pictures with you
from the 2007 camp.

I'll have updates for the January 20-27, 2008 camp when it happens. So I can rub it in the alumni Bash Brothers faces that they should have been there!

All kidding aside, I Thank god every day for my health, my friends, and my new friends the Bash Brothers and.......

most of all, my wife and my sons.. They are my world!

I'm one very fortunate man!

Stay tuned! It will get interesting.

Smitty
