I HEAR THERE IS AN OPENING IN TUCSON!!
The Cubs have been happy training in Mesa, but . . .
The Arizona Republic wrote about the possibility of the Cubs using an out-clause to bolt from the town as early as 2012. It only would cost the club $4.2 million. Their 20-year contract with Mesa expires in 2016.
The story speculates that the Cubs' new ownership could have the team looking in a different direction. At the very least, the Cubs would angle for significant upgrades from their current facilities in Mesa, especially given what the White Sox just received from Glendale, Ariz., for their new pad.
Mesa officials, though, are confident the new owners will want to stay.
"This is not a big deal," said Robert Brinton, president of the Mesa Convention and Visitors Bureau. "The feedback we have is they love it here."
The Cubs, though, will receive offers. They lead all teams in attendance in Arizona.

BY POPULAR DEMAND!
Just want the Shermster to know
that I'm listening.
Give me a call and we can catch up
someday.
Spring Training is getting closer.
Man time flies. It feels like we were just
bitching about the 2008 Cubs.
Personally, I think we are worse off in 2009
that in 2008. DO you think Fukudome will
continue with his ballerina style swinging?
Why won't mojo join us for a cheap tournament
weekend? I believe he is scared like Sherm
to hang with real players.
To Dr Heart....Good to see Dempster was
in camp early. His discipline earned him
kudos for last season.
Has anyone seen Bud Selig?
Do you think Sosa or Bonds will ever be back
in the BIGS?
I heard that Sherm will not play in a Wood
Bat tournament because he can't handle
REAL WOOD!

BASH BROTHERS UPDATE!
The Quasi Bash Brothers have
not represented us well.
From my last contact Weds, the team
is 1 and 5...OUCH!
Guess they need some bats to show
up for the cause.
Considering I am not attending the camp
this year. I am not one the problems and
neither is Dr Raker.
Slow down your swings and
be the ball.
Coaches this year...or Coach
this year is Rick Reuschel and
Jose Cardenal showing up occassionally.
Camp is down to 92 players.
Wiliams, Trout, Fanzone and
Suttcliffe SOL.
Don Kessinger is a new addition.
Don't know if Vedder, Santo or
Banks made camp.
Maybe one of the 09 Camp
Bash Brothers will send me an update!

Welcome PRESIDENT BARACK OBAMA!
You are now our Leader and you
have inspired millions.
Last time a President had this
much game was President Kennedy.
I wish you nothing but success and
that our great nation will rise over
our current challenges.
AND...
#1 -That I will be able to go to Cubs Camp
in 2010
#2- Get my Retirement Money back
#3- Cubs will win a World Series while
I'm still alive.
#4- That the loyal will be able to get Cubs Tickets
for Generations.
What is #4 about?
Read below!
So now we know how the new owner of the Cubs is going to finance the inevitable renovations at Wrigley Field. Get ready for seat licenses, season ticket holders.
The Cubs dropped hints that seat licenses could become a reality at last weekend's convention. Executive Vice-president Mark McGuire talked about the subject during a Q-and-A with fans.
When asked directly about seat licenses, Mr. McGuire said the new owner would "look at all opportunities to figure out what they've got to do to renovate Wrigley Field to make it the way they'd like it, and that would be one of the things that's a possibility."
JOE! Say it isn't so!
My best bet is to take the Murnyak Strain on Vacation!
Holiday Presents for Life!
Ralph! What will I need to do? You have Season tickets!
No inheritance for the Grandkids?
Except they would have good seats at the
Cubs game!

2009 - Father time has left 2008 - And I say Good Riddance!
It's hard to believe that another year
has done by. And many of us would not live
2008 over if they had to.
New President, Cubs blow it again,
economy has challenged the rich and the poor,
and with these curves that have been thrown,
I am thankful for you reading my blog.
We are not guaranteed anything in life except for
air, taxes, life and death. Someday they will figure
out a way to tax air.
I send you a prayer, faith, and wisdom that
your 2009 will be your best year yet.
That's what I'm counting on.
Go Cubs!
